The friction shifting for the front derrailluer is so much less hassle than trimming an indexed system. The indexed rear shifts flawlessly. Yes, you have to take your hand off the bars to shift. However, on long rides moving the hands off the bars relieves pressure reducing fatigue. They also look great on the bike and no shifter cables needed off the front of your handlebars. A really clean look.
